Five of Seattle's event pros traveled all the way to Boston to deep dive into the foundations of creative thinking, uncovering the essential mindsets, habits, and tools that fuel innovation. The event took place at the Sheraton Commander Hotel, where event professionals from all over experienced three full days of powerhouse events: Chapter Leadership Day, the Annual General Meeting, SEARCH Foundation's Patrol event, and the prestigious Esprit Awards, alongside educational seminars and keynotes sparking creativity and conversation.
Leadership Day
Kicking off "Build," ILEA's International President, Cecilia Lavin, presented the core goals of ILEA as a whole and the direction that ILEA International plans to take.
Recruiting more members through the ILEA student program
Catering to ILEA members
Protecting the legacy of ILEA
DEI
The day was then concluded with the Taste of Boston networking event. ILEA members got to meet and try various foods from local vendors, as well as live music and an AI-generated sports card photo booth.
Education
Both Tuesday and Wednesday featured education seminars and keynotes from twelve speakers. Some of ILEA Seattle's favorite speakers were...
Steve Gross's "Power of a Playful Mindset." Event professionals learned about the key components of keeping it fun and playful. He reminded us that creativity isn't just a strategy; it's a way of life.
Susan Robertson's "Finding the Fast Lane to Innovation." Susan was all about rephrasing problems as questions to keep an idea moving, keeping the core creativity of the original idea while revising it to make it possible.
Carrie Campbell's "Recognizing the Power of Appreciation." Connection starts with gratitude. She reminded us that sometimes the best thing you can do is stop and say thank you to the people who help you.
What's next?
The ILEA Seattle chapter is excited to continue bringing community, collaboration, connection, and acceleration to all ILEA Seattle events, as well as to apply more creativity and innovation to better elevate the existing experience even more. We are here to amplify Seattle's vibrant event industry and support the people who bring it to life.
