The Last Stand: ILEA Seattle Halloween

The dead rise. The air is acrid and smells of blood. In these apocalyptic times we gathered this past Wednesday for The Last Stand Halloween party at WithinSodo for an evening of dancing, meeting friends, and lots and lots of fake blood. Join us as we recount how we all survived that evening to make it home safe and sound after the horde brought the roof down. And as always thank you to all of our fabulous vendors and sponsors, none of this could be possible without them.
The Outbreak
The night began with a search for supplies. Starting with a themed scavenger hunt, survivors had to gather details and find people that fit into each category throughout the night. The lovely bartenders quenched our thirst with custom made cocktails by the in house bartending provided by WithinSodo.
A wonderful spread provided by K Catering kept us fed with backyard BBQ staples. Throughout the evening, music was provided by Orion Entertainment to keep everyone movin' and groovin'. Kristen, our VP of Membership, did amazing work with the face paint station.
The Scavenger Hunt:
The Scavenger Hunt was ago the moment you stepped into the venue, with attendees being asked to find survivors based on what they were doing last before the outbreak of the apocalypse. After this ice-breaker, everyone who completed it was entered into a raffle to win prizes later in the night. (These along with all of the graphic designs for the evening were done by Blue Ink.)
Thriller Dancers:
We had an absolutely electrifying surprise performance by the Seattle Thrillers, a local non-profit that came out dressed to terrify. Seattle Thrillers is a nonprofit organization created to break down barriers by connecting people of all abilities, religions, races, gender identities, and economic backgrounds through dance. The organization produces the annual Thrill The World Seattle event and also performs in other events in and around the greater Seattle area. Photo booth:
A quick mention and thanks to MVP Photobooth for the fantastic photo booth setup, here we have the Thriller dancers capturing the evening together!
The Rations:
Starting the night off, we had a massive charcuterie table and other finger foods.
After feasting the fine hors d'oeuvre provided by K Catering, we had ice cream served up by Shug's Ice Cream.
On top of that we had cornbread, chili with the fixings and a whole spread of different snacks for dinner that delighted the taste buds.
We even had a smores station, which helped reveal who has the patience for a golden brown and who sets their marshmallows on fire.
