ILEA Seattle Board Retreat Recap: Strategy, Shenanigans & A Whole Lotta Momentum

Let’s set the scene: fifteen of Seattle’s event pros locked in a hotel together for two days. No, it’s not the start of a new reality show (although we did conquer an escape room). It was the ILEA Seattle Annual Board Retreat, and y’all - it was electric.


What Actually Happens at a Board Retreat?


If you imagined back-to-back PowerPoints and polite clapping, think again. This retreat had:


  • Big visions and belly laughs

  • Brainstorming that bordered on telepathy

  • Many scones and cannolis

  • And a group bonding escape room where we - eventually - escaped, thanks to Reality Break Escapes


Huge thanks to Hilton Garden Inn Redmond for hosting us in comfort and to Cactus Bellevue for the top-tier tacos and legendary margaritas.

On Tuesday evening, we gathered with members, new faces, and future collaborators for a lively mixer. Think: community connections, creative energy, and a whole lot of chips and salsa. It was the perfect way to kick off the year and welcome new energy into the ILEA Seattle family.
